David: I do agree with you on some of what you say and have read all you have written on here and your newsletter you send out- There seems to be a great difference in the online systems you have out there and the kind we have here- there is no ability to blanket copy or reproduce documents as you indicate- we can shoot a page at a time or at the most with acrobat printing they limit it to about 25 pages at a time- no mass coping of the docs and there are no other tricks to these systems- I agree that older docs have some SS#'s as that was the manner the lenders identified or proved that the docs were notarized as the same persons that were the signers of the docs. The clerks out here do not publish everything like it has been depicted in Texas- only the same thing as what used to be in the record rooms of the old days- nothing more- all criminal records are protected , all chancery or law cases are also protected too, you have to go into the court house to get that info still. Our online systems are just like being in the court house except we sit at home instead of driving and finding a place to park- etc- all very nice from our point of view- in the older days I remember counting the number of examiners in the record room being over 125 at some times, now they have reduced the size of the room and there are now only about 3-5 people in there on a regular basis anymore. Now I agree with your vigilant work to keep the sensitive information from being disseminated to any and all that view the docs, and that was why I indicated we should limit the subscriptions to US citizens, that is if you are required to subscribe with the clerk in order to access the online records as we do out here.The fees they charge limit how many counties we can be active in- the economics are the limiting factor at about $100 a month for each county-that's why I only do work in 4 counties-the cost is up there. I hope this provides some info our your quest and some answers as to why I believe in the online systems (that I use every day out here)
