Steve, I like the way you think.  Just this morning I sent a note to Robert, telling him about a Christian alternative to health insurance called Medi-Share (check it out www.medi-share.org ) 

Simply stated, Medi-Share members (devout Christians) put all their (indredibly low) premiums in a pile and share as need arises.  Meantime, the remaining funds earn interest for future need.

Provision of health insurance is probably the greatest incentive in America today for accepting or considering an employment offer.  Using this program as a model, the thousands of abstractors could create their own solution, join forces by banding together in this cause, and consequently make business decisions together.
