Like VT, CT is a "by town" recording system.
My #1 favorite is still the following regarding a loan document package. The borrowers had "given up" and understood my statement that "I was told by the 'title expert' to leave these documents exactly as printed, however, my notarization venue will state Middlesex County."
What the "title expert in Georgia clearly stated" (very rude and mad that I would DARE to even question or offer to fax a Connecticut town/county map):
- East Haddam is in New London County.
- The mortgage WILL BE recorded with the New London County Clerk.
- Do NOT change the printed text.
Borrowers happy with loan deal and I can't blame them for not caring "where" the mortgage was recorded - if at all.
