Robert,
This is a great article, I read about this a year ago. Apparently someone tried suing HR Block to no avail.
If anyone here has done a marketing campaign and talked to a mailing service, you already know how bad the information whoring around the world is. My own ISP is no different. It knows what sites I visit and sends that information to third parties so they can solicit me. Like it or not, everyone that views this forum today already has a file with 10 or more mailing warehouses across the US who know what you like, what you dislike and all your contact information. I try and combat this by setting up all my computers with fake information or as ambiguous information as possible. A great look into the future of marketing is the movie Minority Report. In this movie as you walk past monitors, they scan you retina and change the marketing message to your habits. Scarey thought eh? Wonder what the CC companies do with the information about where and how much and how often we purchase something......... I guess the only solution is to buy our house in the middle of the woods, build our walls and shut off the world.
Good luck financing a house after 5 years of that though. No credit, no financing.
George
