Lots of natural gas has been found in Texas.  These companies are "stealing" abstractors off the street!  Offer more than many make in their businesses.  They are paying a per diem rate plus expenses.  In otherwords, paid a rate per day, lunch expenses, hotel expenses, travel expenses, etc.  My friend who used to be a supervisor for GAR is doing this.  He is staying at the local hotel in a county just 1 1/2 hours from his house and they are paying for it.  So finding Texas abstractors is going to become increasingly hard.  Texas is not one of the states these VM companies need to be playing games with the abstractors for fee cuts.
