I remember one of my first plays was in the State of Washington leasing for 50cents an acre (there may still not be a producing well in the whole state) and then going to Colorado and leasing for $40.00 acre.  They told me back then (1980-83) that as long as oil was cheap - USA would buy from other countries and save domestic oil - wonder if there was any truth to it?  Certainly not cheap anymore.  I would think the demand for Landmen would be up?
