I too had this happen a year ago, someone got my check card # and proceeded to purchase about $500.00 worth of cigarettes. I had to sign an affadavit and the bank reimbursed it, Thank God! The thing is I am very carefull about protecting my cards, I have no idea where they got my #. I can only guess it was someone employed by a place I used it at.
