Just to add a bit to those "quirks", here in CT we have, I think, 159 different registries, although they all use the same basic system, each one has its' own practices. There is one City here for example that, I would never send a newer abstractor to. If they have not worked in this city before, they would surley be in for a treat. It has taken me a long time to learn its' quirks and I still find some new ones from time to time. At one point I almost stopped working here just do the liability.  I have done some work in other states and I have to say, It is much different from State to State and County to County.
