I almost agree with your argument. If you were only to substitute another word, or phrase, for "greed". You see, most of us, I think, don't like to think of ourselves as greedy. It implies a willingness to put ethicds aside in order to gain a larger slice of the pie than that which one has earned.
Our customers acting in their best interest, and our working in our own best interests, are an example of the yin and yang fueling our capitalist system. In our case, we could use a more robust yang.
