I don't recall ever advocating doing "anything for a buck". Crack dealers and bookies make huge profits, I'm sure, but that doesn't make it right.
You keep using the phrase, "doing what's right". Doing what's right by whom? In my case, it's myself and my family. You make my argument for me with your statement, "if you can't find a better way your days are probably numbered anyway."
In other words, I won't be in business very long if I'm taking unfair advantage of my customers and suppliers. They are motivated by the same things as I am..."GREED" and PROFIT. What I'm saying is that we independent abstractors need to stop being afraid to do what's right by ourselves. It's not a crime to look out for your own interests.
