Be careful in Rhode Island.  There are 39 cities and towns where land evidence is kept and  no standardization.  Each clerk decides how they will index things.  Some towns list the discharges in the grantee index (the right way in my opinion) however others list them in the grantor index.  Some towns used to list them in the grantor index, but now put them in the grantee index.  Your best bet in Rhode Island, is to always check both grantor and grantee for any kind of search.
