Pete...
It was nice to see Tom remembered....I worked for Title Insurers and as an employee of Tom; I only have good things to say about him as a person. He was one of the most caring and considerate bosses I have had in over 40 years of my employment life. It was very difficult to hear the news, and to know that a man and his wife felt their lives were nothing more than an embarrassment and full of dishonesty. If anything, they were the opposite. To look at a lifetime (over 29 years) of a company, owned and operated by the same person....and see what can happen when just the right employee has access to funds...is very tragic. If anyone knew all the circumstances behind what brought Title Insurers down - they may very well have acted in a similar manner. I pray that they both find peace now...and realize their lives were worth far more than any amount of money on this planet. I liken Tom's situation to Jimmy Stewart's in It's a Wonderful Life; he just didn't have his angel close enough.
