I would very much like to raise our prices, but unfortunately we are already among the highest in the counties we cover.  I tell all my clients that we charge what we do because we always conduct a thorough search and it takes longer. Most of our best clients aren't charging their customer some of the outrageous prices others have mentioned.  My clients charge about $150 for the exam.  Out of that they pay me about $145 ($100 for a full search, $25 for an update, and $20 for a filing).   

As for the turn-around time, I tell them that we do the best we can.  My staff is working as fast as they can without sacrificing quality - that means that when we get busy, they are going to take a little longer.
