I bill them for the search at my regular price. They send me a check once a month for all my invoices at my billed price. Then about 60 days later, they deduct the $2 fee from my bank account and send me an itemized statment of what each $2 charge covered. April & May fees wouldn't come out until sometime in June. Statements are always correct. And yes, you can mark up your fees to cover the $2 charge. They will even tell you that on sign-up. It's seems like a win-win situation. But it may not appeal to everyone.
