That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of.  Like Kevin, I am expending time searching and time is money.  Why is it that no company can realize that we go with orders from other companies yes - most of the time - sometimes, especially in a very small county we might not.  Also, if all the companies did that can they imagine that compounded from all the companies how much time we would spend researching and making no money.  I simply would say no matter how much business is given, I don't think so.  I remember getting a package from someone saying that and I think I cross it out before sending in and initialling or I could have even declined because I would never agree to those terms.  Some companies want you to report what is there when you don't find the exact one too - so you are actually doing more than a retrieval job - it turns into almost a current owner search which is ridiculous also.
