Lisa, As I stated in my previous post, I am not voicing an opinion regarding this issue! As president of NALTEA, I feel that I need to welcome any and all views, opinions, ideas, plans that any and all abstractors present to NALTEA. Some may see this as fence sitting or refusing to take a stand. Or maybe I'm just a wishy/washy leader. Anyone that knows me, knows that I definitely have my own opinions regarding this industry & I am not afraid to voice them when appropriate.
There are 5 members on the NALTEA Board. I have been on the board from the beginning & I can tell you that we have had some very spirited conversations & disagreements. It is important that we try to get a number of different views. We are trying to represent abstractors Nationwide. Anyone that has ever read postings on this forum, knows that there are many different views on any given subject.
It is very important to me to keep the lines of communication open between NALTEA & all abstractors (members & non-members). If I had come out and stated "That is a great idea, I'm all for it" or "That is a stupid idea & it will never work", would abstractors take that as a definitive answer from NALTEA? Maybe not! They shouldn't because it would have been MY personal opinion. I can't speak for NALTEA without the board authorizing me to do so.
I have tried to impart any knowledge that I have on this issue & I did speak with a good friend who is very knowledgeable on this subject. I passed his views onto Ellen.
I have always and will continue to help ANY abstractor that asks for information that I may have, due to my experience & contacts within this industry.
Regards,
Wanda Steudel
