Someone recently made a suggestion that bears repeating. The way to get the politicians on our side is to get the word out to Joe Average Citizen through local media outlets. As some of you may have heard, the Pennsylvania General Assembly a few months back voted themselves a pay raise, (literally in the middle of the night), and when the media got wind of it, the public backlash was such that the legislature had no choice but to repeal it. In fact, some of the legislators who are up for re-election in the upcoming primary are still in "damage-control" mode.
My point is that while the title insurers have considerable clout as a lobbying group, the politicians know that ultimately it is the public that will turn out and vote. We should be prepared to use this to our advantage and put together a strategy to educate the homebuying public.
Any thoughts?

Scott Perry
