We have talked about providing some type of mediation service for abstractor/client disputes but it would be a tough nut to crack. There are several potential problems such as getting both the abstractor and their clients to willingly participate, the liability of making any statements about the companies that were still unable to resolve their disputes, and the time and cost involved. In the end, at least one party, and maybe both, would not be pleased with the outcome.
It is just more than I think we want to get involved with.
On the other hand... I don't like to see all the negative comments about companies on the forums and it would be nice to do something about it. I would much rather see the forums used to discuss more constructive questions about the process of abstracting, than the horrors of collections.
Best,
Robert A. Franco
