I had a company that did that - said they sent it to another abstractor and paid them - and they sent the information to me just for me to show them that I completed the order for them six months prior, yes six months and sent it in - not a no find!  The ended up paying me too.  Some companies are so disorganized and that is why you never reduce your rate - that is what these so called competitive companies are - disorganized, dysfunctional, etc.   Know the quality of your work and your work ethic and just say no - not only am I going to lower my pricing, you can expect small increases every year or every two years to cover the rising costs of doing business -bar none - period - that's it!
