Patty - that is not true in every county.  One abstracting company that had people based in Dallas county - that means they sat there all day - no travel time - could do no more than 2 at most.  The only ones that were being sent out were the ones that were difficult.  And into the time it takes to make money is not just the time it takes to do the search, it is the travel time to get to each county that is involved, the time it takes to do the tax work on the property which in many cases involves not only getting taxes from the county but the individual city and special district (which in itself takes me more than 15 minutes just for that) the time to put the report together, invoice it and send it to the client.  When all is said and done - if anyone is thinking that one report takes less than 1 hour they are just in the wrong mindset.
