Our fees are fixed by a set Pricing Schedule, which I furnish to all new clients. We do offer what I call a "Preferred Client Discount", but the discount is based on monthly dollar volume rather than number of orders. I use a sliding scale ranging from 5 to 20 percent, but as a practical matter, it usually doesn't average more than 10%.
I make sure the client understands: no volume, no discount. It's my way of rewarding the companies who consistently send lots of work, and I don't have to justify charging a higher price when the volume drops off. It's always worked well for us.
