IREP is okay to work for, but I have had different issues with them recently (in the last six months, and I have done work for them for about eight years). For example, they want their orders back in 24 hours. Meaning if they send an order to you at 11:07 a.m., it better be back by that time the very next day or they call, call, call and complain that it is late. Many of their orders are PMM or 2 owner orders or deed copies (with parcel number and as of date). Easy enough, but many times I end up with orders with no PMM that go way back and are really frustrating. In addition, if that county happens to be online, you will only get the hard orders that they can't do online. They want a flat fee that includes copies, so make sure to make your fee enough that it is worth your time. Other than that, they do pay twice a month, but make sure you keep track and get paid for every order. I have had issues with not getting paid for things like filings or updates. Yes they are affiliated with NRE (I think they are in the same building or something like that) but I think NRE is a bit easier to deal with versus IREP.
Don't get me wrong, I still do some work for IREP but the last six months haven't been real pleasing in my book since they tend to change their rules and not inform you. Such as the "exact" 24 hour rule I talked about before, they suddenly needed this "exact" 24 hour turnaround and never bothered to inform me until I was receiving nasty phone calls everyday about "late" orders. Trust me, they were one of my best companies and I always made their work priority and in return they took away my work in my biggest county because I couldn't fax stuff ASAP (even after I explained - vocally and in writing - that I did not carry a fax in my back pocket or have access to a fax in that county, they were very uncaring and said they would find someone else - which they did and that is another story in itself). Perhaps others have had better experiences, but that is mine and I used to really work hard for them and now I could really care less if they send me anything. Good luck, maybe their "standards" are different in other states. to post a reply: login - or - register
