This is a good point. Unfortunately, when you are self-employed you don't always have control over when you get your raises. I have only raised prices three times in 13 years. I do give my examiners a raise very year, but I try to make it up by becoming more efficient. I would love to raise prices, but there are too many others in our counties working for less. My clients are willing to pay a little more for the service and quality we offer, but I wouldn't want to push it.
If you think you can raise your prices, that is great. However, you have to remain competitive in your market or an increase in price could actually cost you money.
