Robert, I didn't mean to sound argumentative in my reply. I was smiling the whole time I was writing it but I guess that doesn't come across online sometimes.

It reminded me too of the old time westerns. You are right, the old time sheriff's didn't have AK47's. They often carried the same weapons as the bad guys but they could always count on the U.S. Cavalry in a pinch. The Loving County Sheriff's AK47 isn't a match for the grenades and rocket lauchers recently confiscated from armed illegals crossing our borders.

If I were the sheriff of one of the border counties I think I would demand a tank. Actually, I guess this is what they were asking the senate for in their testimony. We need the calvalry. Either defend our borders or give us the means to defend them for you.
