I have received a few calls from a company in India that wanted me to subcontract my work to them.  I don't know how they could do that because only one of our counties is on-line and they don't have all of their records imaged.

I would guess if they are looking for abstractors as vendors, as opposed to clients, they are probably trying to fill the gaps for the orders they can't do on-line.  They have probably realized that there are many orders they cannot fill with their on-line or in-house plants.

Personally, I wouldn't do any work for them.  They are trying to take work away from us.  If we, as abstractors, help them expand their offerings by covering counties for them that they couldn't do otherwise, we are only helping them expand and purchase more records.  We know that they are only going to give us the more difficult work that they can't do easily on-line and their ultimate goal is to eliminate us.  I'll be damned if I am going to help them do it.

Plus, if you think it is difficult to collect from some of your clients now... just wait 'til you have to try to collect a delinquent account from India!  No thanks.

Best,
Robert A. Franco
