Thanks, Kevin.  Here in SC, there was a law written to specifically add appraisers to the list of entities that "added to the value of the structure" so they could file mechanic's liens.  I'm not really looking to do that right now, I was just wondering if I could find a state that DID have such a law so I could see what their wording was.  We always love your legal advice!  I actually don't have any delinquent accounts (except you know who).  But this came up in discussion with another local abstractor and I said I'd try to find the wording in those states that have it.  Thanks again!
