I agree Steve. You are doing a valuable service to your community. I wish more independent abstractors would be as involved.

The use of a static IP is a good idea but even this can be circumvented using programs similar to  GotoMyPC.


I hope you will continue to question and inform local government. They CAN protect the records in their charge by restricting access to within their own jurisdiction.
