You have to understand that you shouldn't do that because no company can have the same volume of work with each abstractor and you can't do that for companies that send a couple orders a month so you shouldn't do that with any because it all adds up.  People handling alot of smaller counties this method would absolutely destroy them.  There would never be volume and each trip the traveling is the biggest investment - not the time at the courthouse.  On large volume clients I even told myself in my head, I might go back and do this in my main counties a couple of times but could not do this on a regular basis - had like a percentage in my head - if I got 100 orders a month, I might go back on a couple without charge but not a large amount, you would be working too many hours for free.

Grateful for work?  We should be grateful - I like that.  I provide a service and I do great work - as far as being grateful for the work - that is the problem abstractors are being reduced to feeling like they should be "grateful."  Sorry I'm not grateful - maybe my clients should be grateful I provide such a wonderful service for them.  Do you ever think they would feel that way?  Not!  There are only a handful of clients that I would be dedicated to because they never took anyone lower priced than me for their work - they wanted quality and too few of those exist today.
