no boos or hisses here. i think you have a great idea. maybe instead of exorbitant fees for site access it could be based on anyone carrying e & o coverage. at least those people have their money where their mouth is...or membership with some organization like naltea, or sot...
i would support such a concept. i do like to have the online access. preliminary work makes the time in the field easier and more efficient. but, i agree that the average joe (sorry, all you quality and non-average types, out there ;} ) accessing records isn't qualified to have that sort of info at their disposal. i don't mind the folks in pakistan, or anywhere overseas, making a living. i just don't think they should have indiscriminate access to our divorce decrees, deeds, mortgages, etc.
come on folks, we all know it, it means they have our addresses, sometimes phone numbers, etc...
that's a little uncomfortable for me when we're putting missles in japan to keep north korea calm. it's crazy enough that they can get online and count the windows in my house from a satellite view.
anyway, thanks to everyone replying and posting. i'm an information junkie, so i just love that we all keep each other in the loop...
