That is a very slippery slope. You ALREADY have access anytime you go to the courthouse. Who would you suggest will qualify the abstractors. Access by subscription will not prevent someone from handing over their passwords to anyone in the world. Choicepoint was subscription based and were simply scammed into believing they had signed on 50 new businesses to access the public records they sell. The fifty new business were operated by Nigerian identity thieves using 50 previously stolen American identities. Close to a quarter of a million identities were stolen.
Should the consumers be asked to sacrifice their security for the sake of your convenience?
