George, I am sure the software is impressive. Data miners have used the same software for years. I think I maybe I wasn't clear in my previous post. It really depends on what they are trying to redact and the documents themselves. Were they redacting handwritten SS#s? Maiden names, Signaturers, medical and financial information? Social security numbers are only needed in about 40% of identity theft cases. In fact the most dangerous part of the document could be the signagure and notary seal. Florida was the first to suffer from this type of deed fraud but since then it has spread all across the country. You only need one and sometimes two pieces of information to take over someones life. Amy Boyer, for example lost her life when her stalker found her address in the public records. Before her Rebecca Shaeffer was murdered when the address she submitted to the DMV was electronically transmitted to her stalker. Terrorists are able to find detailed infastructure information about our utilities, bridges, nuclear and chemical plants and the workers.
All of this information should be available inside the courthouse, none should be accessible online or transferred in bulk.
What do the software companies say in their disclaimers and contracts? Do they take responsibility for the claims of their salespeople or is this simply disclaimed away in the fine print of the contract?
