Loretta: Just for the fun of it, why not send this company or any other one that comes in with these ridiculous , made up "going rates" a follow up note stating that a recent review of the rising costs of doing work, with gas prices , copy prices and just generally everything else having skyrocketed along with the increased dedication to correcting and or finding , and correcting all the errors being created by discount settlement/title firms your "GENERALLY ACCEPTED GOING RATE FOR A COB NOW IS -$**"- insert a reasonable fee that you feel is proper, be sure to add something for the aggravation they have caused you too. I think $85-125 is an appropriate amount.I do a lot of work for a Northern Virginia settlement company that does Maryland cases also and I have always been interested in why titles across the river average about 50% higher than what I am getting over here- I asked ,with no apparent reason to explain it- you must just be able to get more than we can or could- mine are going up to try to match yours anyway.
