There was another PA case that held that the limitation of liability disclaimer on a title search was ineffective to limit the abstractor's liability.  See Searcher Owes Insurer for Missed Judgment, from 11/11/2004.

On a more practical note, our E&O insurance coverage is $1 Million also.  However, we occasionally do commercial searches with the potential for much more liability.  It doesn't come up often enough to justify getting a larger policy.  In most cases, a claim is not going to cause a "total loss" to the insured.  Most problems can likely be cured, or settled, for much less.  Hopefully $1 Million will be sufficient - God willing we will never have to find out.
