This search is most often requested prior to recording of a deed, mortgage or both, but can be requested as a separate search.  Normally, a bringdown or update is performed from the "cover date" of a previously completed search, and usually covers a period of two to three weeks.

I would be hesistant to perform a "bringdown" from the cover date of someone else's work without specifying the exact time period being covered by my "update".
