Wendy: While that sure is a good way for them to build up a "slush" fund for their next party or "technology" purchase, it looks like they want you to pay for it no matter what is will really be used for-I see no reason for any of us to pay someone or some company to be eligible to get work. Now, I believe the appropriate response should be the going rate you charge for the kind of search they are requesting "plus" your own tech fee too , just add $10 for that, as long as it meets or exceeds the amount they plan on charging you. Have fun with them at the very least-Give them a current owner fee of $15 and a tech fee of $75- unless you don't have time to play along with them at the time.
