Funny you should mention the story of Noah's flood, as there is a growing body of scientific evidence which corroborates that very account. In fact, some scholars seem to think that the Great Flood is what caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Rather than being "borrowed" from other cultures, as you suggest, I submit to you that the Babylonian and Greek accounts of the Great Flood which you cite were "borrowed" from Scripture. I seem to remember a few years back, someone had claimed to have found Noah's Ark.
The Bible isn't something I merely "take on faith", F. Lee. I think that everyone should know what they believe and why they believe it. That's why I've become so adept at defending my beliefs. I personally think that that the body of scientific evidence supports the Creation model more than it does evolution model.
I think you would find the science of Christian Apologetics to be a very fascinating study. You may wish to examine the works of Dr. Simon Greenleaf, with whom I'm sure that you as a lawyer are familiar. It was Dr. Greenleaf who used the rules of evidence and the canons of proof and argument to establish the authenticity of the Gospel accounts of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection.
If one examines the archaeological and manuscript evidence, as well as the eyewitness accounts and ancillary writings of Josephus and others, one is almost forced to conclude that the Bible is Divine, rather than human in origin.
That is why I am so confident in the accuracy of the Bible.
