I will have to disagree with you Kevin on how much abstractors have to lose. 
We have just as much to lose.
The same mistake can result in a claim for us as well.  Several, and sometimes one claim, can lead to the loss of our E and O insurance

AND

OUR BUSINESS.  Your livelihood and our livelihood both open to the risks.

Our business is just as valuable to an abstractor as your membership to the bar.  Without our E and O I wouldn't think of abstracting, just as you won't practice law without belonging to the bar.

So please don't trivialize our risks or the value of our business.  We risk our business everyday just like you and just like you we can lose our business as well.
