I am sure that there are many good non-attorney abstractors out there Wanda. The point is that I was paying these people extra because of there expertise. I made it clear to them that I did not expect to be held accountable for their mistakes. They understood it...and performed accordingly. Attorney's have more to lose than the lay abstractors. One mistake results in an insurance claim. Repeated negligence results in
disbarment...quite a difference and a much larger penalty to pay. Consequently, I do think we tend to be a litlle more vigilant
