I guess that makes sense, sounds like a handy tool. However, we don't usually scale legal descriptions to find errors, we are more concerned with identifying the parcels so we can tell if the particular document applies to our search. Our counties tax map offices check our legal descriptions for errors. When we have a transfer, they give us a pre-approval stamp so we, and our client, knows that it will be acceptable.
For example, if we are searching a 20 acre parcel and we find the owner has a mortgage on a one acre parcel, we may scale out the one-acre parcel on the map to see if it describes a part of our 20 acres. I can't imagine that it would save any time to use a program for that, when a set of scales is does the job.
