Yes... I would expect that too.  I think a lot of companies don't have the money to pay for the searches and wait until they get paid to pay their abstractors.  When things slow down and they have their own employees to pay, I think the abstractors are going be left holding the short end of the stick.

Things have definitely been slower around here.  We had an examiner leave to go to another local title company and we didn't replace him.  We still don't have enough work to keep the remaining examiners busy.

Hope things pick up... but I don't expect it.
