Yes, these scams are very common.... they are called "phishing" scams. A couple of easy identifiers that indicate that this is not a legitimate email:
1. The link they provide to their website is https://www.fnbgc.com/centralminn/index.asp?pid=survey. However, if you hover your mouse over the link and look in the lower left hand corner of the browser (in Internet Explorer) it will show you where you will actually be taken. In this case it is http://www.art-of-flame.de/fpnews/survey.php. The ".de" indicates that this is a German Web site.
2. Although the link they display indicates that this is a secure web site ("https"), the actual site you are taken to is not secure. You can tell because the actual web address is "http", not "https", and when you get there there is no lock-symbol in the lower right hand corner of the browser to indicate that the site is secure. Anytime you are asked for personal information, especially credit card information, you should check to make sure you are on a secure, encrypted Web site.
