In my area, some Title Companies purchase all recorded information monthly from the Register of Deeds office.  Now it's all digital recorded information, but years ago, the big Title Companies ( with plants ) would have persons standing at their copiers ( which the Recorder would allow them to have their own space with their own copiers) and just copy all the originals as they were recorded.
