I had insurance with TIAC a couple of years ago. When I signed up with them, it was the cheapest I could find. However, they also require you to be a member of ALTA, which I found rather expensive for what you get. I got a quote from Title Program Administrators and saved about $1,000/year, plus I got to drop my ALTA membership which saved a few hundred more.
I had more coverage under TIAC: $1Mil per claim/$2Mil aggregate and the defense costs were outside the policy limits. With Title Program Administrators I have $1Mil flat, which I believe is still more than sufficient. I have never had a claim (knock on wood) - let alone a claim exceeding $1Mil.
