for this event, there won't be a strict agenda. Each attendee is encouraged to come with questions on specific topics they want to know more about--or if you have specific specialty like I do with heirs property, then we ask that you come prepared to give a 15 minute "talk" on that topic.
After the morning session and lunchtime discussions, we will reconvene and either go on to new topics or revisit topics from the morning discussion that people have questions about or where questions/comments came up during our lunchtime conversations.
One of the "topics" will be gauging the interest in a future meeting wherein we WILL have organized speakers on specific topics who will do presentations with Q & A and a formal agenda. The event in October will be more informal, country club casual atmosphere where we will have a roundtable of discussions---some topics will be educational, others will be more about current industry concerns. Also, NALTEA is sponsoring the event so some discussion will be given to membership to NALTEA and the possibility of our meeting regularly as a regional "subsection" of NALTEA, much like you and I are discussing starting our local organizations, which we would hope would be a part of NALTEA. So we would eventually envision NALTEA with a regional Carolinas chapter of which the Midlands and the LowCountry Associations would be members. So that will certainly be a "topic".
I will be moderating each of the time slots so we move on to the next topic after the time is up and don't get bogged down on any one item. So in a way, we WILL have an agenda. The discussions will be free-form but we will keep it orderly. Then we can revisit the topic later in the afternoon after the attendees have had time to put some thought to their comments/responses/ideas, etc.
I am also creating a flyer over the weekend that we can post in local courthouses.
