We have a similar elite society here by another name.  This group studies online publishing issues and makes recommendations and is comprised of registry personnel and you guessed it, software companies.  Our registries here have become so relaxed about their *dirty deeds* that they're allowing these companies to sponsor festivities at the 54th Annual NC Register of Deeds convention in a few weeks.
