The national title companies are probably are already licensed in Kansas and will not affect their ability to write policy, it will just make it more difficult to find a licensed abstractor in Kansas or they will have to contact a local title company for the search and split the premium with them.
My understanding is there are two tests; one for abstractors and one for agents. Someone correct me on these if I am wrong. We were able to get ours without an exam since we were licensed already in Missouri.
What does the sponsership involve? Do you actually have to be an employee of a title company or can a title company just sponser you?
