It is unfortunate, but I think we are going to be seeing much more electronic filing in the coming year or so. They are working very hard on the technology and standards to make it happen.
My concern is that it will make it much more difficult to examine a deed, or mortgage for imperfections. I'm still not clear on what information will be included in the electronic filing... will they send an image of the document so you can actually see the signatures, notary stamp, etc? Or, are we just going to be looking at lines of computer text with the details of the document?
I guess we will have to adapt to the changes, but I don't think they are going to make things easier for the examiner.
