I heard a report this morning stating that sales of existing homes has slowed, but that always seems to be the case at this time of year, at least in our local market.  I think people are too preoccupied with Thanksgiving and Christmas to think about buying a house this time of year.

I think the refi business will pick up after the first of the year when those post-Christmas credit card bills come rolling in.
