I agree that you don't need clients that don't pay "on-time", but do you really think you would have many (any) clients left if you required them all to PRE-PAY? My comments were in reference to the appraisers' practice of not doing their work until they have a check in hand. While I agree that it would be nice if we could work that way, the reality is that it is just not an option.
Heck... I would just be happy if I could get all of my clients to stick to our NET30 terms! Our policy is to cut off any further work once an account reaches 45 days until we get the payment. It works, but we have to really stay on top of it.
