If I understand your story, (please correct me if I am wrong) your husband pinned the gentleman at the next table to the floor in response to his comments concerning the expression of First Amendment rights.
I am amazed that your husband was not arrested for aggravated assault/battery...not to mention a civil suit for damages. The Iraqi War is a heated issue with proponents and opponents on both sides of the issue. I do agree with your position that protesting at veteran's funerals is not appropriate, however the gentleman at the next table from you was correct in his position of their exercising their freedom of speech rights. I think your husband should have exercised more self control.

You may not agree with the content of someone else's conversation, but he certainly does have the right to express his opinion.
